A Profile of Precision

The FINESSE® Flex Loop is designed for consistent and smooth procedures to create positive outcomes for patients.

In a subanalysis of the DISCOVER study,* it was shown that when using the FINESSE® Flex Loop there were:

• Low rates of retinal alterations following membrane peeling procedures1,†

• Fewer occurrences of retinal hemorrhage in areas peeled vs ILM peeled with the diamond-dusted membrane scrapers or forceps1,‡

* The DISCOVER study reported on the 3-year assessment of feasibility and usefulness of microscope-integrated intraoperative OCT during ophthalmic surgery (n = 837). Study description: Subjects (n = 34) were those who participated in the DISCOVER study and had undergone macular surgery with      membrane flex loop. Intraoperative changes in retinal images were analyzed.

Acute retinal alterations after ILM peeling with the FINESSE® Flex Loop were visualized at a frequency of less than 10%.

38% of eyes experienced inner retinal hemorrhage in areas peeled with FINESSE® Flex Loop.

A Nitinol Loop for a Consistent Edge

The FINESSE® Flex Loop’s exclusive Nitinol Loop features tines that are:

Orange Checkmark   Designed for no more than 85% penetration into the ILM2

Orange Checkmark   Concave in shape to impede penetration exponentially with increasing indentation2

The Nitinol Loop is designed for use without loss of particulate matter.

Flexibility by Design

The FINESSE® Flex Loop has been designed with a retractable tip for an adjustable stiffness profile.

• Surgeon-adjustable loop length allows for variable bending stiffness2

• Adjustable stiffness profile enables greater control over contact force

• Retractable tip provides ease of insertion through valved and nonvalved cannulas

Complements The FINESSE® MAXGrip® Forceps

The FINESSE® Advanced DSP Tip MAXGrip® Forceps feature a microtextured grasping surface for secure grasping of fibrous or adherent membranes.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION

IMPORTANT PRODUCT INFORMATION

Indications for Use: The FINESSE® Flex Loop is a manual ophthalmic surgical instrument intended to aid in ophthalmic surgical procedures. The device may be used in posterior segment surgery to create an edge on a membrane to begin peeling with forceps. The device is provided sterile and is intended for single use.

Caution: Federal (USA) law restricts this device to sale by, or on the order of, a physician.

Warnings and Precautions:

• It is not recommended to remove the ILM (internal limiting membrane) with the device. Scraping the retina can cause irreversible damage to the nerve fibers.

• Inspect tip for damage (e.g. burrs, bending, or loosening), check loop functionality (extendability), and ensure the loop is fully retracted before inserting instrument into the eye.

ATTENTION: Reference the Directions for Use for a complete listing of indications, warnings, and precautions.
