PanOptix® Provides 20/20 Vision at Near,
Intermediate and Far1*

A chart illustrating how PanOptix provides quality vision at near, intermediate, and far distances.

* Based on mean value of binocular defocus curve at near, intermediate and distance at 6 months (n=127).
† Snellen VA was converted from logMAR VA. A Snellen notation of 20/20 or better indicates a logMAR VA of 0.04
or better, which means 3 or more of the 5 ETDRS chart letters in the line were identified correctly.

One of the circles is on the laptop screen to showcase an intermediate view with the Monofocal lens. Another circle is on the coffee mug to showcase a near view with the Monofocal lens. The last circle is on the café menu board, to showcase a far view with the Monofocal lens.

PanOptix® Provides Patients With a More

Natural Intermediate Focal Point at 60 cm4

Our natural intermediate focal point is at arm’s length5-8

Split into 4 images side-by-side. The first image is a bird’s eye view of an individual’s hands playing the piano. The second image is of an older woman grabbing food from the fridge. The third image is of an older man sitting at his desk on his computer. The last image is of an older woman sitting on the couch with a mug in her hand while she looks at her tablet.

AcrySof® IQ PanOptix® offers a more comfortable intermediate distance for your patients at 60 cm vs 80 cm4

ENLIGHTEN® Technology

See How ENLIGHTEN® Optical Technology Works

To make it possible to achieve 20/20 near, intermediate and distance vision, the PanOptix® IOL is equipped with a proprietary lens design that allows for the three optimally placed focal points.1

A complex, multi-step visual illustration describes how Enlighten Optical Technology optimises intermediate vision without compromising exceptional near and distance vision. A text box at the top, right-hand side of the page explains the first step in the Design of Enlighten Optical Technology and says “To create Enlighten Optical Technology, we first created an additional focal point at 120cm.” An image to the left of the first text box demonstrates the relationship between focal distance and light energy – highlighting 1st order intermediate. The second text box below the first text box says “Then, we redirected the new 1st order intermediate focal point’s light energy to distance.” An image to the left of the second text box demonstrates the relationship between focal distance and light energy when the new 1st order intermediate’s focal point light energy is redirected to distance. The third and final text box at the bottom of the page defines the final result and says “Enlighten Optical Technology optimises intermediate without compromising excellent near and distance vision.” An image to the left of the third text box displays how the final result optimises intermediate vision without compromising excellent near and distance vision.

PanOptix® is Engineered to Optimise Light Utilisation

Illustration of the AcrySof IQ PanOptix IOL with text inside that reads “4.5 mm” referring to the diameter of the diffractive zone within the IOL. A line coming from the top of the IOL connects to text that reads “The unique diffractive structure allows the lens to transmit 88% of light to the retina at a 3 mm pupil size for high light utilisation.” A line coming from the bottom of the IOL connects to text that reads “Featuring a 4.5 mm diffractive zone to reduce dependence on pupil size in different lighting conditions.”
