Since then, science and technology have moved on by light years. With numerous materials, types and even colours on offer, a world of choice has opened up for contact lens wearers (and opticians). One of these choices is whether and why to choose monthly replacement contact lenses over other options.

Then came the breakthrough—glasses. These were undoubtedly a great step forward, but initially they were ugly objects, fitted with thick, heavy distorting lenses. Then improvements brought in spectacles which corrected vision more accurately—and technology which did so via lighter, well-designed lenses and frames.
